Three RNLI Medals for Gallantry – the RNLI’s highest accolade – will be presented to volunteer crew members from Dungeness, Exmouth and St Abbs lifeboat stations tomorrow (17 May) at the charity’s annual awards ceremony at the Barbican Centre in London.

The Mudeford RNLI team were in action on Sunday (13 May) when two calls for assistance from the Coastguard to any vessel in the vicinity of Hengistbury Head went unanswered. 

The volunteer crew from Mudeford RNLI had problems initially locating the 19ft motor boat, which had suffered engine failure, as it had no radio on board...

The second call out on Sunday (13 May) for the volunteer crew of Mudeford RNLI came whilst they were attending the annual ‘Rogation Sunday, Blessing of the Waters’.

At 12:57pm today (14 May) the Falmouth RNLI volunteer lifeboat crew were alerted to the fact that an elderly gentleman on a yacht in Mylor was thought to be having a heart attack.

The inshore lifeboat launched just seven minutes after being alerted and raced across the harbour to locate the yacht containing the casualty, arriving at 1:08 pm...

Two RNLI volunteers from the south west will be aboard the RNLI’s newest all-weather lifeboat – which will be named Diamond Jubilee in honour of the charity’s Patron, Her Majesty The Queen – when it takes part in the Diamond Jubilee River Thames Pageant on Sunday 3 June.
