The roots of the Mount Charles Band can be traced back to 1779 when it was known as the regiment of Cornish Volunteers. Following several name changes it moved from Charles town to Mount Charles in 1945 and became known as the Mount Charles Band.

Newquay' s harbour seals greet the return of one of the fishing trip boats. Th seals recgnise the boats and their antics provide great entertainment for the visitors at the end of their trip and for the onlookers around the harbour walls.

Newquay Gig Racing Champinships 2009

The Newquay County Gig Championships are held each year at the end of the rowing season. . Clubs and crews from around Cornwall all come to compete in Newquay Harbour for the County Championshps.
There are claesses for all ages, male and female and the Champinships are a great spectacle.

Newquay's Atlantic 85 lifeboats launched at 08:30 hrs on Friday 2nd July 2010 to assist a broken down fishing vessel 4.5 miles off Towan head.
